Why are games so expensive? Shops are cutting the price of everything – except videogames. Are we being ripped off?
GTA4 is the most expensive game to date, with an estimated budget of over 100 million dollars. You dont recoup that overnight…Games are costly, and the obvious reason is that they're expensive to make. The days when industry-defining hits were the creations of bored teenagers hammering away on home computers are long gone. Today, a games studio is more like a film studio, with huge teams spending years on a single project. Budgets in the tens of millions aren't unusual, and that means games have to sell an awful lot of copies just to break even. The overwhelming majority simply don't. Im a real fan of video games, so i dont care spend my money in games... in what kind of hobbies do you spend your money?????

Blu-ray
Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association , a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience.Blu-ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer, recording media, video game like ps3 and music companies. The format also has support from all Hollywood studios and countless smaller studios as a successor to today's DVD format. Many studios have also announced that they will begin releasing new feature films on Blu-ray Disc day-and-date with DVD, as well as a continuous slate of catalog titles every month. for the first: I'm totally agree with jonathan in the idea that today the video games are not boring because the old video games doesn't had good graphics, and good effects like the ones we see today, like we know that these games have more quality, is logical that they have to be expensive, but are games like the ones of play station 3 that are too expensive. I will not spend my money in the video games that are too expensive, i like them yes, but i prefer to spend my money in buying sport articles.
for the second part: the creation of these discs is a great progress because it gives more benefits to the consumers, like the manege of data, but i consider that we should go on in the development of new players that ensure the advantanges of this new technology, and how to avoid the overheating of the discs.
